MEET ALYSSA
I used to scrounge up whatever I could from my measly allowance so I could develop countless rolls of film. Fast forward to my teenage years and I received my first digital camera. I spent hours photographing myself and my friends for our MySpace profiles and I knew that photos meant a lot to me. I never considered it as a career though. Coming from a cultural and working class family background, making a living from being an artists seemed like a far-fetched and impossible dream.
It wasn't until my son was born that I decided life is too short to not do the things you love. Now, over a decade later, I see the career that I have made and I am so grateful. Photographing people has always been so special to me and I am so happy that I get to do this for a living!
I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN A SMALL DESERT TOWN. JOSHUA TREES HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.
ASIDE FROM BEING A PHOTOGRAPHER, I AM A MUSICIAN, SINGER/SONGWRITER. I PERFORM UNDER AN ALTER EGO, JANE AND HER CALAMITY. SHE'S ON SPOTIFY.
I AM PRETTY SERIOUS ABOUT BOARD GAMES. MY FAVORITES INCLUDE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, BETRAYAL AT HOUSE ON THE HILL, AND GAME OF THRONES.
I'D LOVE TO BE SOPHISTICATED, BUT I EAT LIKE A FIVE-YEAR-OLD. THE MORE CHEESE, THE BETTER.
I AM A SINGLE MOTHER TO TWO TEENAGERS WHO ARE THE COOLEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER KNOWN.
I HAVE A DOG NAMED SGT. PEPPER, A CAT NAMED RAISIN AND WE LIVE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.
